Welcome NWT Fishermen!
We are very excited to be hosting the Cabela's National Walleye Tour in June this year. Mobridge is beautiful that time of year, and fishing is at its best. Our Chamber's Tourism Committee is gearing up to make sure all of our visitors have a great stay, including planning a delicious meal the afternoon of the registration and pairings meeting.
Lake Oahe is the 3rd largest man-made reservior in the country and boasts over x species. Common catches include walleye, sauger, smallmouth bass, northern pike, crappie, perch, bluegill, carp, buffalo carp, salmon (in the fall), catfish (flathead and channel), whitefish, silver bass, and ling (in winter only). If you want to fish it, chances are we have it!
The tournament is going to be held on June 27 and 28 in Mobridge, SD. A registration and pairing meeting will be held Thursday, June 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Scherr Howe Event Center, followed by complimentary dinner from 4-5 p.m. for anglers and a rules meeting at 5 p.m. The tournament will launch at 7 a.m. both Friday and Saturday from Indian Creek Recreational Area. The Chamber is planning to have the weigh-ins on Wrigley Square at the end of Main St. with scenic Lake Oahe as a backdrop. Check-ins will be done in flights starting at 3 p.m. and running until 5 or 5:30 each day.
