We are here to help. Parenting is special, important, and stressful work, and we realize how critical accessible, affordable, high-quality child care is for your family. Our goal is to help you find the local support you and your children need to succeed. We've compiled local specialized care options available in our community, including infant care, school age care, nontraditional hours, part-time care, care for children with special needs, culturally specific child care or multi-cultural care options.
In a recent report, Parents Under Pressure, the U.S. Surgeon General's Advisory on the Mental Health & Well-Being of Parents warns that financial strain, such as that caused by a 26% increase in child care prices over the last decade, is contributing to high levels of stress for parents and caregivers. Forty one percent of parents say that most days they are so stressed they cannot function and 48% say that most days their stress is completely overwhelming (compared to other adults at 20% and 26% respectively).
Our organization is hoping to foster open dialogue about parental stressors, including child care, and to equip you with the resources you need to address stressors and connect with local support services, create opportunities for you to build supportive social networks with other parents and caregivers, and elevate your voice to shape community programs and investments. If you have questions, concerns, or ideas you think will work to improve the outcomes for families in our community, please reach out to us at W3CAssociation@gmail.com.
