LODGE SERVER

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Welcoming and sitting diners comfortably in the Dining Room, Social Quarters, and other areas (service areas)

·        Taking customers' food and drink orders

·        Verify identification and age requirements of customers

·        Collaborating with the kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of orders

·        Memorizing the menu and recommend appetizers, meals and drinks

·        Delivering a memorable experience by resolving all customer issues promptly

·        Maintaining and projecting a positive and pleasant attitude with and in front of customers at all times to ensure a memorable experience

·        Assisting with the tidying of tables, clearing leftovers and keeping the service areas clean, neat and pleasant

·        Setting tables and rearranging the service areas to accommodate larger groups and prepare the restaurant for special events

·        Ensuring restrooms are clean, neat and pleasant prior to opening & during shift

·        Any other duties as assigned by the Social Quarters Manager, Lodge Administrator, Supervisor, or Board of Officers

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

·        Be at least 18 years of age

·        Prior experience in a food-serving establishment preferred

·        Excellent written and oral communication skills

·        In-depth knowledge of winery and different types of cuisines

·        Highly developed interpersonal skills

·        Basic bookkeeping knowledge

·        Working knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems

·        High level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods

·        Ability to work well under intense time pressure

·        Dedication to on-time arrival for shifts

·        Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and carry trays, plates and smallwares

·        Available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends

·        Ability to safely transport food or beverages to a table of three in a single trip

·        Polite and hospitable attitude

 

SALARY EXPECTATIONS

·        South Dakota Minimum Wage or higher depending on experience

 

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

·        Required to be or become TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) alcohol certified and maintain certification

·        Required to be or become ServSafe Food Handler certified and maintain certification
