Lake Oahe is a large reservoir that is located north of the Oahe Dam in Pierre, South Dakota, and continues into North Dakota. The lake has an area of approximately 370,000 acres and its shorelines run for about 2,250 miles!

This lake has many tourists as it provides ample opportunities to enjoy the beautiful area's fishing, hunting, camping, and photography. The approximate amount of people that visit the recreation areas along Lake Oahe range from 1.4-1.5 million people each year.

The fishery in Lake Oahe includes walleye, northern pike, channel catfish, smallmouth bass, and silver bass. The walleye in the area is a specific target for many anglers, and the award-winning walleye that have come out of the lake are the reason why many anglers choose to drive hundreds or thousands of miles to fish on the great Lake Oahe!
